That moment of shy beauty arching
like a rainbow across the skyline of our thoughts.

We look at what revelation it beckons,
what lush grace of colours it casts upon the horizon.

I have not known the night for a prank player but you,
who like the sun, manages to slink away soon before darkness

arrives, hack into my consciousness like a dream.
And in this small place where teenage fingers tiptoeing on the

the keyboard is our shyness crossing a river on a bridge
of words, I show you the love that distance continually bars me from

truly showing. Sylvia, I do not know what more
mysteries the night has kept from us.

But I came into this dark hour heavy with longing. Now, I
rest under the shadow of this nocturne we’ve undraped
