To drive further its goal of promoting African literature,The Shallow Tales Review, an electronic journal publishing African and Black Literature, is set to host Reading Shallow Tales III, its third anniversary commemorative reading.

Reading Shallow Tales is an initiative that brings together eighteen African writers in one space to read from their books. The free event provides the primary opportunity for up-and-coming writers and artistes to network with their favourite writers and ask them relevant questions around their art and writing. The editors consider the event something in the sorts of a virtual, bookish Coachella.

Scheduled for 12pm (WAT) on Saturday, March 11, 2023, this year’s webinar features African authors including Sola Osofisan (Nigeria), Cheryl Ntumy (Ghana), Nerine Dorman (South Africa), Stephen Embleton (South Afica), Joshua Chizoma (Nigeria), Jerry Chiemeke (Nigeria), Amanda Ilozumba (Nigeria), Su’eddie Vershima Agema (Nigeria), Sihle Ntuli (South Africa), Kristin Jennifer (USA), and Wole Talabi (Nigeria). The keynote address will be given by world-renowned, award-winning critic and scholar, Ikhide R. Ikheloa.
