We are pleased to announce that Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and  Pemi Aguda are among the winners of the 2022 O. Henry Prize. This year’s series is guest-edited by the Booker-nominated author, Valeria Luiselli, and, for the first time, includes lots of stories translated into English from other languages.

Adichie is being awarded for her short story “Zikora” published by Amazon Original Stories.

Pemi Aguda

Aguda is awarded for her short story  “Breastmilk” published in One Story.

Known as one of the world’s most prestigious literary prize for short stories and named after American short story writer William Sydney Porter, annually recognizes the best short stories published in a US magazine.

The anthology will be out in September 2022.
