Renowned author and feminist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie recently announced her new book, Mama’s sleeping scarf. The book, which is an illustrated children’s book, comes 10 years after her last novel, Americanah and is based on a day in the life of Author’s daughter. The book was written under the name “Nwa Grace-James’ ‘—a tribute to the author’s late parents—and will be published by HarperCollins (UK) and Alfred A. Knopf and will be released on September 5, 2023. Illustrations for the book were done by Joelle Avellino.

Speaking about the book, the author, in an instagram video said “This book is about how delightful the ordinary everyday things can be”

The author’s past books include Purple Hibiscus, which won the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best First Book, Half of a yellow sun, a historical fiction about the Biafran war, which won the 2007 Orange Prize for Fiction, and Americanah, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award. The author also has a collection of short stories titled, The Thing Around your neck and non-fiction works, We should all be feminists and Dear Ijeaweale or A feminists manifesto in fifteen suggestions.
