Bernadine Evaristo first nonfiction book is coming out on the 3rd of October, 2021. The book is being published by Hamish Hamilton in the UK and Grove Atlantic in the US.
Evaristo’s 9th book, a memoir, is titled Manifesto: On Never Giving Up. The book details her long journey as a Black writer in a white-dominated industry, and her mission of championing Black voices in the British literary space.
Bernadine Evaristo’s Girl, Woman, Other won the prestigious Booker Prize in 2019, and also the Book of the Year and Author of the Year at the 2020 British Book Awards. The book has been translated into over 30 languages.
She also founded the Brunel International African Poetry Prize in 2012, which has been won by Warsan Shire, Safia Elhillo, Gbenga Adesina, and Romeo Oriogun.
