Dear fans of Akwaeke Emezi, guess what? Aha! Akwaeke Emezi has a new novel which will be published next year. Last year, we announced that Akwaeke will be releasing a memoir this year and a poetry collection in 2022.
This year, the non-binary trans writer announced via Twitter that their first romance novel, YOU MADE A FOOL OF DEATH WITH YOUR BEAUTY, will be published under Atria Books in 2022. This will be Akwaeke’s sixth published work in about four years. There was Freshwater in 2018, Pet in 2019, The Death of Vivek Oji in 2020, Dear Senthuran: A Black Spirit Memoir which will be released in 2021 and her poetry collection, Content Warning: Everything, will be out in 2022.
There isn´t much details about Akwaeke’s romance novel, but the novel is about a “young artist struggling to overcome the loss of an old love while inviting a new one in.”
