Apply for James Currey Prize for African Literature! The prize is in honor of James Currey, whose work in academic publishing has made considerable impact on African literary culture. The prize is awarded to “the best unpublished work of fiction written in English by any writer, set in Africa or on Africans in Africa or in Diaspora.”


This is the maiden edition of the prize, and it is administered by World Arts Literary Agency.
Submit your short story collection, novels, and novellas. The winner will receive £1,000 and an agency offer from World Art Literary Agency.


Writers can submit up to two full-length unpublished manuscripts of fiction in English. Submissions should be made via email to submission@jamescurreyprize.com
The deadline is April 1, 2021.
